Data@breakfast webinar: Cybercrime and cybersecurity in SA – Recent incidents and how you could be at risk

Abstract: October is cybersecurity awareness month, which presents an opportunity to remind ourselves to stay safe online. The pandemic and introduction of lockdowns globally saw a surge of cybercrime leveraging off the panic. Since then there have been noticeable incidents in South Africa that illustrate how personal information is at risk, and some have potential wide-reaching impacts. This webinar will provide a review of recent incidents, illustrate how these put the average citizen at risk, and how to protect yourself.
